NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion (5-12, 2-3 ASUN) lacrosse team fell to Coastal Carolina (9-8, 4-1 ASUN) on Saturday afternoon by a 16-5 final score. Natalie Ledwitz, Colleen O’Connor, Cydney Tutchton, and Jessi DeLuca were honored in a pregame ceremony on Senior Day.
The Chanticleers got out to a four-goal lead. After nine minutes of play, Sophia Richie net one to put the Monarchs on the board.
Coastal Carolina continued their scoring through the first half to take a 10-3 lead heading into the second half.
Hanna Breslin and Glory Johnson also scored goals in the first period.
The Chanticleers scored two back-to-back goals to open the second half.
Richie tallied two more goals in the second half but Coastal notched four goals to lift them above the Monarchs.
Defensively, Lauren Ey tallied eight saves in goal. Kerri Caruso racked up three caused turnovers and three groundballs.
Coastal Carolina outshot the Monarchs 40-18.

The Monarchs will face Jacksonville in the semifinal of the ASUN Tournament hosted by Jacksonville. ODU will play the Dolphins on Thursday May, 3.
