Simmermacher Named C-USA Golfer of the Year

IRVING, Texas -- Maggie Simmermacher has been named the Conference USA Golfer of the Year, becoming the first women's golfer in school history to earn conference player of the year honors, the league office announced on Friday.

In addition, Simmermacher and Katerina Vlasinova were both named to the All-C-USA First Team. The senior tandem both earned the fourth all-conference accolades of their illustrious careers.

Simmermacher has notched four top-10 finishes on the season, including a third-place finish at the Palmetto Intercollegiate. With a scoring average of 73.3, Simmermacher has been ranked in the GolfStat individual rankings all season and is currently 161st in the nation.

Vlasinova leads the team with five top-10 finishes this season, including three top fives. The Czech Republic native's best finish was a runner-up finish at the Brickyard Collegiate and she also placed eighth at the C-USA Championship. Vlasinova leads ODU in scoring average at 73.0 and is currently ranked 144th in the nation by GolfStat.
