FORT MYERS, Fla. -- With the best round of the day, the Old Dominion women's golf team climbed to second place and trail leader UTSA by four strokes at the Conference USA Championship at the Verandah Club.
ODU (+14) carded a 1-over 289 as a team on Tuesday, the best team round of the tournament, to move from fourth to second and close the gap on UTSA (+10) entering tomorrow's final round.
Katerina Vlasinova (+3) was one of just five players in the field to finish Tuesday's round under par, carding a 1-under 71 to move into a tie for sixth, individually. Charlotte De Corte (+3) is also tied for sixth after finishing with an even 72.
Sana Tufail (+4) was also even for the day and sits in 10th. Maggie Simmermacher (+7) fired four birdies on the back nine to finish the day 2-over and is tied for 16th. Abigail Portyrata (+11) rounded out the ODU lineup and is tied for 33rd.
The Monarchs tee off at 8:50 a.m. ET tomorrow and will be paired with UTEP and UTSA. Follow all of the action live on GolfStat.
