NORFOLK, Va. – Adam Moundir of the Old Dominion men’s tennis team was named to the C-USA InTouch Credit Union All-Academic Team on Tuesday, as announced by conference officials.

The back-to-back C-USA Player of the Year (first in league since 2009) has played No. 1 singles all season (as well as for the past three seasons) for the No. 33 nationally ranked Monarchs. 

As a sophomore, Moundir was named the Conference USA Player of the Year and Most Outstanding Singles Player of the C-USA Championship, while garnering All-First Team honors for both singles as well as doubles and was a First Team All-State singles selection and a Second Team doubles honoree.

Last season, Moundir was named the Conference USA Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. He became the first player at ODU since 2009 to qualify for the NCAA Tournament. Moundir was named to the InTouch Credit Union C-USA Men's Tennis All-Academic Team a season ago. He was named the Most Outstanding Singles Player of the Conference USA Tournament. At one point during the season, Moundir was nationally ranked No. 18 in singles. The Luzern, Switzerland-native was also named to the All-Conference First Team for singles and for doubles and was a C-USA Honor Roll honoree for his cumulative GPA during the academic year.

He has won a total of 171 matches during his time at ODU.

Moundir has earned Dean’s List and C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal recognition during his time at ODU. He is on pace to graduate in May as a double major in Marketing and Management.

Moundir and the No. 33 nationally ranked Tennis Monarchs earned the No. 1 seed in the upcoming 2018 C-USA Tournament and will first take on No. 8 seeded UAB at 11:00 a.m. EST on Friday, April 20 in Houston, Texas.
