With 6 days until spring football practice, ODUSports.com takes a look at each position group for the Monarchs. Today we feature the offensive line and tight ends
Offensive Line
Old Dominion returns seven players from 2018 that started games last season, combining for 100 starts. The group is led by seniors, Nick Clarke and Chad Hendricks.
Clarke, a two-time member of the Rimington Trophy Watch List, has started 31-straight games at center and earned Conference USA honorable mention honors last season.
Hendricks has started 21 career games at left and right tackle, starting seven last season before suffering a season-ending injury.
Junior Tony Barnett started all 12 games for the Monarchs in 2017 at left guard, and has 18 career starts under his belt. Barnett was the only offensive player to play every snap last season.
Sophomore Isaac Weaver played all but one snap last year, and earned C-USA All-Freshman and honorable mention honors.
Senior A.J. Davison played in all 12 games, and started nine at right guard, while Andrew Lawson started five games and Eric Magwood started once. Lawson started five times as an extra tight end, while Magwood started the finale at right guard.
T.J. Storment saw action in five games as a fredshirt freshman.
Tight Ends
A young group for the Monarchs, senior Justin Cooper and junior Nijee Cox are the veterans of the group. Cooper played in all 12 games last season, starting three. He has seen the majority of playing time at running back and on special teams. Cox played in six games in 2017, catching one pass for 17 yards, before suffering a season-ending injury.
Marcus Joyner played in 10 games, while Keion White redshirted.
