JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Through 36 holes, the Old Dominion women's golf team holds a 15-shot lead over the field in the UNF Collegiate at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club.
Old Dominion (-5) carded a 6-under 282 as a team in the opening round and then finished the day with a 1-over 289.
The Monarchs are the only team currently under par and hold a commanding lead of Western Kentucky (+10) and Murray State (+10), who are tied for second.
Four of the five Monarchs competing sit in the top 10, led by Katerina Vlasinova (-3), who sits in second place and is six shots off the lead.
Charlotte De Corte (-1) and Abigail Portyrata (-1) are both tied for fifth, while Maggie Simmermacher (E) is tied for ninth.
Sana Tufail (+10) rounded out the ODU lineup and is tied for 45th.
The tournament concludes tomorrow with the final 18 holes.
