NORFOLK, Va. – Trey Porter, a redshirt junior on the ODU men’s basketball team, was named Conference USA Player of the Week, as announced by C-USA officials on Sunday night.

Porter (Woodbridge, Va.) averaged a double-double in two ODU wins, which ultimately secured second place in next week's conference tournament. He averaged 23.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 block per game for the week.

Against FAU, Porter went for 29 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and one block. Against FIU, he scored 18 points, hauled down 13 rebounds, had three steals, two assists and one block. The six-foot ten-inch forward helped lead ODU to a 24-6 overall record and a 15-3 mark in C-USA play.

The No. 2 seeded Monarchs will await the winner of the No. 7 seed North Texas versus the No. 10 seed LA Tech for a Quarterfinal matchup. Thursday’s Quarterfinal contest will begin at 9:30 ET/8:30 CT and will air on Stadium/Twitter.
