NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women’s soccer team recently held an awards luncheon to celebrate another successful season on and off the pitch. The staff and student-athletes were joined by family and friends to help celebrate all of the accomplishments. Be sure to check out the attached photo gallery.
*As voted on by the team, the awards given were the following:
-MVP: Jackie Stroud (17 appearances, 5 goals, 3 assists, 13 points)
- Newcomer of the Year: Carla Morich (17 appearances, 1 goal, 7 assists, 9 points)
-Offensive Player of the Year: Iris Achterhof (16 appearances, 5 goals, 7 assists, 17 points)
-Defensive Player of the Year: Jackie Stroud
*Other individual awards and recognition included the following:
- C-USA All-Conference 3rd Team: Natalie Johnson
- C-USA All-Conference 2nd Team: Iris Achterhof
- C-USA All-Conference Freshman Team: Carla Morich
- C-USA All-Conference Defensive Player of the Year: Jackie Stroud
- C-USA All-Conference 1st Team: Jackie Stroud
- C-USA All-Academic 2nd Team: Jackie Stroud
- Virginia Sports Information Directors All-State 1st Team: Jackie Stroud
- Two-time C-USA Defensive Player of the Week: Jackie Stroud
*Team awards and recognition include the following:
-19 players made the Fall Dean’s List (3.4 GPA)
-4.0 GPAs included Blair Vilov, Emily Roberts and Iris Achterhof
-Fall term team GPA of 3.6 was recognized as the highest on campus
