Norfolk, Va. – This past weekend, Old Dominion University’s Sailing team participated in three events; the Woollum Team Race (hosted by CNU), the Navy Spring Race (hosted by Navy), and the John Jackson Memorial Team Race (hosted by Georgetown).
ODU managed to walk away with a fourth place finish at the Woollum Team Race. The Monarchs consisted of Alex Chicoine, Brendon Wilkins, John Glenn, Colleen Bauman, Makalynne Dyer, Tori Ewing, Clare McCarthy, Julia Williams-Portland and Stephen Guglielmo. They managed to finish 8-7 overall in all races for this event.
The second of the three races Old Dominion competed in this weekend was the John Jackson Memorial Race, hosted by Georgetown. For this race, ODU again took fourth-place finish. They posted an overall record of 10-7 for all races in this event. The team featured Jeremy Herrin, AJ Jacob, Dreugh Phillips, Jack Elkin, Carter Little, Emily Harrison and Bridget Groble.
The final race ODU competed in this past weekend was the Navy Spring Race. ODU finished in 17th, with the team of Olivia Windemuller, Abigail Tutt, Hannah Pokorny and Abigail Lockler.
The Monarchs will be back in action this weekend, March 17, when they hit the road for another tripleheader. They are scheduled to compete in the Graham Hall Team Race in Annapolis, Md., the St. Mary’s Women’s Race in St. Mary’s, Md., and the William and Mary Open in Williamsburg, Va.
