With 11 days until spring football practice, ODUSports.com takes a look at each position group for the Monarchs, starting today with the quarterbacks.

Quarterback
Heading into last spring, Old Dominion did not have a quarterback on the roster that had started an FBS game. Now, Steven Williams Jr. and Blake LaRussa combined to make 11 starts last season.

Williams' first action of the 2017 season came against North Carolina when he came in and impressed, throwing a 71-yard touchdown pass to Travis Fulgham. He completed 147-of-263 passes for 1528 yards and six and 11 interceptions. He also rushed for 355 yards and three touchdowns. Williams played his best football down thre stretch. In ODU's last four games he was 62-of-91 for 664 yards and two touchdown passes, a rushing touchdown and did not turn the ball over.

LaRussa started the first two games of the year, both ODU wins, and started in the win over Charlotte. He was 38-of-67 for 420 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions. In the opener against Albany, he was 14-of-20 for 161 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.

Drayton Arnold did not play in 2017 but has traveled each of the last two seasons. He was a three-star recruit out of Myrtle Beach High School that threw for more than 8,500 yards in high school.
