IRVING, Texas -- After scoring a career-high 24 points in the win over FIU, Old Dominion guard Victoria Morris has been named the Conference USA Freshman of the Week for the third time this season, the league office announced on Monday.
Morris' 24 points led all scorers in ODU's victory over the Panthers on Friday. The Cincinnati native shot 60 percent from the field and connected on six threes, marking the sixth time this season that Morris has hit five or more three-pointers in a game.
For the season, Morris leads the team in scoring with 12.2 points per game. The last ODU freshman to lead the team in scoring for a season was Celeste Hill in 1990-91. The standout guard also leads all freshmen in the nation in threes made with 69.
Morris also earned the weekly honor on Nov. 27 and Dec. 26. Read the conference's full release here.
