NORFOLK, Va. -- In its first home series of the 2018 season, Old Dominion hosts Big 12 foe Kansas State this weekend at the Bud Metheny Complex. All three games will be streamed on CUSA.tv.
After defeating Richmond, 4-2, in the home opener on Tuesday, Old Dominion (2-2) will look to win its first two home games of the season for the fourth straight year.
The series against Kansas State (2-3) marks the second straight season ODU has hosted a Big 12 team at The Bud. Last year, the Monarchs took 2-of-3 against West Virginia, an eventual NCAA Regional team. Kansas State is the second of five Power-5 opponents for ODU this season.
The Wildcats opened the season with a 1-3 performance at the competitive Baseball At The Beach tournament in Myrtle Beach, falling to South Alabama, Indiana and Coastal Carolina and defeating Virginia Tech. K-State then topped Elon, 8-7, on Wednesday and enter the series against the Monarchs riding a two-game winning streak.
This will be the first all-time meeting between ODU and Kansas State. The Monarchs are 5-11 all-time against teams currently in the Big 12.
