NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion women's basketball team suffered a 55-52 defeat to North Texas on Senior Night at the Ted Constant Center on Thursday evening.

The win snapped a five-game home winning streak for Old Dominion (8-20, 6-8 C-USA).

"I was really disappointed in our offensive execution in the second half," said head coach Nikki McCray-Penson. "We just completely fell apart."

The Monarchs led 30-16 at the half, as the ODU defense held North Texas (15-10, 6-7 C-USA) to just 25 percent shooting in the opening half of play.

Old Dominion pushed its lead to as much as 18 in the third quarter, but the Mean Green mounted a late rally, outscoring ODU 34-13 in the final 15 minutes. The Monarchs committed 25 turnovers, which tied their season high, that led to 23 UNT points.

"They are a very good defensive team, but we had some unforced turnovers," said McCray. "Our guards just did not take care of the ball."

Redshirt senior Odegua Oigbokie led ODU with nine points. Carley Brew added a career-high six points to go along with six rebounds. ODU's senior class of Oigbokie, Ashley Jackson and Kelly Loftus were all honored in a pregame ceremony.

UNT's Terriell Bradley led all scorers with 23 points.

"We were in a position to win this game," said McCray. "But, we beat ourselves. I thought we beat ourselves tonight."

Up next, the Monarchs close out the regular season next week at Charlotte and Middle Tennessee.
