BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Old Dominion (1-1, 0-0 ASUN) lacrosse team suffered their first loss of the season to Virginia Tech (1-2, 0-0 ACC) on the road, 20-3 Saturday afternoon.

Scoring began in the second minute by Virginia Tech’s Marissa Davey. The Hokies went on to score four straight goals.

The Monarchs got on the board with a Katie Miller goal in the 11th minute.

The Hokies went on to score seven straight goals to extend their lead to 12-1 heading into the second half.

Virginia Tech scored first to start the second half. They continued to score four straight to extend their lead to 16-1. 

Michelle Hallman scored the second goal for the Monarchs with 11 minutes left to play. This is Hallman’s first goal of the season.

Notching her fourth goal of the season, Sophia Richie tallied the final goal for the Monarchs off a free position shot.

Virginia Tech scored three more straight goals to finish out scoring in the game.

Offensively, Glory Johnson and Ryann Bauer took two shots on goal. Alyssa Sebesto grabbed four draw controls for the Monarchs.Ultimately, Virginia Tech outshot ODU, 32-12.

Lauren Ey started in goal for the Monarchs, while freshman MaryCate Markey took the goal during part of the first half and second half.
