BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Old Dominion (1-0, 0-0 ASUN) lacrosse team travels to Blacksburg, Va. to take on the Hokies of Virginia Tech on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 3 p.m. The Monarchs are most recently coming off an 11-9 win over VCU on Feb. 14 in their season opener.
Sophia Richie and Brooke Stein scored three goals a piece on Wednesday. Stein led the team with five points after tallying her three goals and two assists.
About Virginia Tech
The Hokies opened up their season facing two ranked opponents in their first two games. On Feb. 10, Virginia Tech saw No. 8 USC and fell 11-5. On Feb. 14, they dropped a game to No. 8 JMU, 16-11. The Hokies received votes in the latest Inside Lacrosse Poll.
Offensively, senior Tristan McGinley leads the team in goals scored with six in just two games. Behind McGinley, Paige Petty and Marissa Davey each have tallied three goals this season.
Last Meeting
The last time ODU and Virginia Tech met, the Hokies took the game, 19-6 and were nationally ranked. The ACC opponent owns the series record by an 8-3 mark.
