LakePoint, Ga. - Senior midfielder Cydney Tutchton and junior defender Kerri Caruso were selected on the ASUN Preseason All-Conference Team announced by the organization Thursday afternoon. With 26 points, ODU was voted third in the preseason rankings.

Cydney Tutchton started in 13 games and played in 16 games for the Monarchs. Tutchton scored career-high 24 goals as a junior and tallied 32 points. Marking her career high draw controls, Tutchton had 28 in 2017. For the 2017 season, she tallied 23 ground balls, 28 draw controls, which was third best on the team and forced 10 turnovers.
Kerri Caruso started in each game in the first two years of her career. The junior tallied 40 ground balls her sophomore season, second best on the team. The defender earned VaSID second team all-state honors in 2017. Caruso tied for the team lead in caused turnovers with 32. She tallied the second most ground balls (40) as well as six draw controls.
As a team, Old Dominion was picked third behind Coastal Carolina and Jacksonville. The Monarchs finished the 2017 season 9-9 and a 5-5 ASUN record. ODU tallied 206 goals as a team last season.
The ASUN announced a 2018 Watch List, which featured junior Sophia Richie and senior Natalie Ledwitz. In 2017, Richie scored 27 goals in the midfield, which Ledwitz scored four goals as a defender. Both student-athletes started in all 18 games as a Monarch in 2017.
The Monarchs start off their season on February 14 at home against VCU at 4 p.m.
