NORFOLK, Va. - Nataliia Vlasova, a junior on the Old Dominion women’s team, was named the Conference USA Tennis Athlete of the Week on Wednesday afternoon, as announced by C-USA officials. ODU student-athletes have earned both Athlete of the Week awards so far this season.
Vlasova (Odessa, Ukraine) helped lead Old Dominion over Virginia by a 5-2 score, after winning in No. 2 singles in straight sets. Vlasova was also one of two Monarchs to win in singles against Tennessee, who was the only team to receive votes in ITA Top 25 last week. She also earned a doubles victory against Tennessee to help give ODU an early 1-0 advantage. Vlasova won both her singles matches in straight sets last week.
For the season, Vlasova is 3-1 in singles and 3-1 in doubles.
