NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University swimming and diving hosts Virginia Wesleyan on Friday, Jan. 26 at 5 p.m. at the J.C. Scrap Chandler Pool. The meet is the final chance for the Monarchs to compete before conference championships begin in three weeks.
The Monarchs are coming off a setback to George Washington last week, however, the Monarchs won several events, including Ethan Apisa in the 1000 free, Filip Svedberg in the 100 butterfly and Nick Wukovits in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, while Ashley Tellerwon the 100 breaststroke for the women.
So far this season, the Monarchs have had five swimmers of the year, including Anton Mikaelsson, Filip Svedberg, Ethan Apisa and Nick Wukovits for the men, and Ashley Brem for the women.
The men's team will compete in the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) from Feb. 14-17 in Athens, Georgia, on the campus of the University of Georgia.
The women's squad competes in the Conference USA Championship from Feb. 21-24 in Atlanta, Georgia, on the campus of Georgia Tech.
