IRVING, Texas – Yulia Starodubtseva (Kakhovka, Ukraine), a freshman on the Old Dominion women’s tennis team, was named the Conference USA Tennis Athlete of the Month for her success in November.
At the 2017 Hokie Invite in Blacksburg, Va., Starodubtseva went a perfect 3-0 in singles en route to winning her draw, and went a perfect 3-0 in doubles en route to winning that draw as well.
She defeated opponents from Virginia Tech, VCU and JMU in straight sets in singles and then student-athletes from Wofford, Miami and VCU in doubles with her partner Holly Hutchinson.
For the month, Starodubtseva went 6-0 in singles and doubles play.
