NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men’s basketball team will kick off the 2017-18 regular season at the Ted Constant Convocation Center on Friday at 7:00 p.m. against Towson.
ODU is 28-2 all-time against Towson. The last time these two squads met was on Dec. 3, 2016 at SECU Arena, where the Monarchs edged Towson, 60-58. The last two meetings have produced a pair of two-point games. Towson beat ODU, 68-66, in its last trip to Norfolk in 2013.
ODU was picked fourth in the C-USA preseason poll.
Towson was picked second in the CAA preseason poll.

MEET TOWSON
Towson returns 10 players from last season’s 20-win team. The Tigers feature five seniors: Brian Starr, Mike Morsell (2017-18 All-CAA Second Team Preseason selection), Eddie Keith II, Deshaun Morman and Van Rolle. Nine of the returning Tigers averaged at least 10 minutes last season.
Towson was seventh nationally in rebounding margin (7.9), 10th in free-throw attempts (868), 12th in offensive rebounds per game (13.48), 19th in rebounds per game (39.55) and 35th in free-throws made (592).
