Third Down Defense
Heading into last week’s game against Charlotte, ODU was ranked No. 119 in third down defense, giving up a first down 47 percent of the time. The ODU defense came through in the win over the 49ers, allowing Charlotte to go 2-for-12 on third down and 0-for-1 on fourth down.

The performance moved ODU up eight spots in third down defense.

Off the Field
Charlotte ran just 49 plays and held the ball for just 20:56, the lowest an ODU opponent has ever held the ball. The 49 plays allowed is a season low. The next lowest in total plays for an ODU opponent this season is 63 for Marshall.
