NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion women's basketball team looks to snap its five-game losing skid on Sunday, as the Monarchs host Richmond at 2 p.m. at the Ted Constant Center.
Old Dominion (0-5) is coming off of consecutive losses to ACC schools, falling to NC State and No. 16 Duke last week. The Monarchs' offense this season has relied heavily on the three-point line, as ODU is averaging 23.4 three-point attempts per game. Against Duke, ODU set a new single-game school record for three-point attempts in a game with 30.
Freshman guard Victoria Morris leads the team in scoring at 13.6 points per game and is the only player on the team to score in double figures in every game thus far. Senior forward Odegua Oigbokie is also averaging double figures at 10.4 points per game and is shooting 47 percent from the field.
ODU and Richmond met annually as members of the CAA from 1979 to 2001, before the Spiders departed the league for the Atlantic 10.
The Monarchs lead the all-time series, 22-6, but Richmond has won the last three matchups. The teams last met in 2015-16, when Richmond defeated ODU, 62-57, in the season opener.
ABOUT RICHMOND
Richmond (4-3) is averaging nearly 78.9 points per game through the first seven games of the season and is coming off of a 1-2 performance at the Savannah Invitational this past week.
