IRVING, TEXAS – Old Dominion University junior Isaiah Harper was named the Special Teams Player of the Week, Conference USA announced on Monday.
Harper returned two kickoffs for touchdowns in ODU's 45-38 loss at North Texas. Harper tied the score at 7 with a 97-yard return. Later in the game, North Texas took a 28-10 lead, Harper returned the ensuing kickoff 98-yards for a touchdown to make the score 28-17.
Harper finished the game with an FBS season-high 235 kickoff return yards, and became the 24th player in FBS history to return two kickoffs for touchdowns in the same game.
A native of Chesapeake, Virginia, Harper is fifth in the country with a 31.5 yard kick return average and is tied for first with three kick return touchdowns.
