CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Old Dominion women’s rowing team travels to Cambridge, Mass. to compete in the 53rd Head of the Charles Regatta Oct. 21 and 22. The Head of the Charles is the world’s biggest two-day rowing event. There are over 790 clubs competing in the national event.
Old Dominion will be competing in the Women’s Club Eights on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 2:37 PM ET.
Just three ODU athletes have competed in this event prior to this weekend.
Representing Old Dominion will be Taylor Phy, Monica Jory, Danielle Yoxthimer, Alexa Williams, Margaret Fluharty, Olivia Taylor, Erin Welsh, Haley Crispell, and Monique McNealy. Phy earned Big 12 All-Tournament team last year.
“They have worked very hard and I anticipate a solid performance. The real measure of this team will be how they continue to progress this year; there is a great energy within this group and I feel it will serve them well if they can control their attitude and effort,” explains head coach Daniel Garbut.
