GREENVILLE, N.C. – After 110 minutes on an 80 degree day at Stewart Johnson Stadium, the Old Dominion women's soccer team (2-2-1) played unbeaten East Carolina (4-0-1) to a 0-0 draw on Sunday night in front of 461 fans.

"I thought we had a strong first half and really dominated the play but failed to get the breakthrough,” said ODU head coach Angie Hind. “In the second half, I thought it was pretty even, although we had a few real chances to score, but unfortunately we couldn't convert. I was pleased, however, that when we were under pressure, we stood strong and that is key for us moving forward. To be away from home and play a team that is 4-0 to a tie is a decent result."

Despite outshooting the Pirates 11-3 and holding a 4-2 advantage for corners in the opening 45 minutes, the Monarchs and ECU remained level, 0-0, at halftime.

ODU outshot East Carolina in the second half, 6-5, but the two teams remained scoreless after 90 minutes.

ECU held a 5-1 advantage in shots and a 4-1 advantage in corners for the two overtimes; however, the Monarchs’ defense pitched their second shutout of the season.

Krista Moisio compiled five saves in net for ODU.

Old Dominion will be back in action on Thursday, Sept. 7 at UNCW for a 7:00 p.m. start.
