NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men’s tennis team will host its first ever Monarch Invitational Friday through Sunday at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center. Players will be sent from Duke, James Madison, William & Mary, Richmond, Charlotte, Norfolk State and Hampton. Admission for all is free.
“We are excited to host the first Monarch Invitational,” said ODU head coach Dominik Mueller. “It’s always fun to play at home and we hope to make this an annual tradition on the calendar. The weather forecast looks great and we are welcoming many great teams from the region. We invite all Monarch fans to come out this weekend and watch quality tennis.”
2017 MONARCH INVITATIONAL SCHEDULE
Friday:
-10:00 a.m. Doubles
-1st Round Silver Singles Draw immediately after conclusion of Doubles
-12:30 p.m. 1st Round Navy Singles Draw
-2:00 p.m. 2nd Round Silver Singles Draw (main draw and consolation)
-If time permits, 2nd Round Doubles
Saturday:
-10:00 a.m. Doubles
-2nd Round Navy Singles Draw (main draw and consolation) immediately after conclusion of doubles
-12:30 p.m. Semifinals and 3rd matches Silver Draw
-2:00 p.m. Semifinals and 3rd matches Navy Draw
(Depending on time, maybe another round of doubles)
Sunday:
-10:00 a.m. Finals
