NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University Sailing took third in the South Qualifer hosted by the Monarchs over the weekend, as Jeremy Herrin, Carter Little, Dreugh Phillips and Elle Wells qualifed for the War Memorial at the end of October.
The Division A boat of Herrin and Little finished in third place, with nine top-five places and three race wins. The Division B boat of Phillips and Wells took fifth with, also with nine top-five runs and a race win.
In the Faye Benent MAISA Women's Singles Race, freshman Bridget Groble took 12th with four top-10 finishes.
At the St. Mary's Fall event, the Monarchs took 13th place. The Division A boat of Alex Chicoine and Abigail Lockler ran in 14th spot with three top-10's and a high of fourth, while the Division B duo of Kyle Mergenthaler and Emily Harrison finished 12th, with five top-10's and a best finish of seventh.
Next week the Monarchs will compete in a trio of events, the Denmark Trophy, Cornell Women's and the Tom Curtis event.
