BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Old Dominion women’s soccer team (4-3-2, 1-1-0 C-USA) dropped a 1-0 decision at Florida Atlantic (5-4-1, 0-1-0 C-USA) on Friday night at the FAU Soccer Stadium.

"I didn’t think there was much in the first half really but FAU took their chance when they got it, credit to them for that,” said ODU head coach Angie Hind. “We really did not get going at all in the first half, which is really disappointing from our perspective. After the storm delay, we had 40 minutes to play and played with intensity and kept the ball in their half for most of it. We pushed hard to get the goal to bring us back into it but just couldn't get enough on target.”

The Owls scored in the 45th minute, when Mary Fauw Hasler struck for the first time this season.

Old Dominion held a 4-1 corner kick advantage in the second half. Krista Moisio made for saves in goal for the Monarchs.

The ODU defense has allowed just three goals in the past 441 minutes of action. The Monarchs last loss came nearly a month ago on Aug. 27 to Duke.

“We need to be determined to get back on track this week now as we prepare to head to Texas," finished Hind.

Old Dominion will be back in action for the third of its four consecutive road games, when the Monarchs take on UTSA in San Antonio on Friday, Sept. 29 at 8:00 p.m.

ODU Women’s Soccer Helps Hurricane Irma Victims: "This idea was brought to me by a few of our players and of course immediately our entire team was eager to support,” explained ODU head coach Angie Hind. “While school and soccer brings this team together, there are many things that touch our lives and having young women who are compassionate and giving is a true privilege to be around. As a team, we want to help those in need right now in Florida and therefore collected donations at our game against WKU and together we brought the goods to the Florida Food Bank on yesterday. We appreciate everyone's help in allowing us to help our friends in need in Florida."
