ODU to Open C-USA Play at FAU

BOCA RATON, Fla – The Old Dominion men’s soccer team (2-1-2, 0-0-0) will travel south to FAU (1-3-0, 1-0-0) on Friday, Sept. 15, for a 7:00 p.m. start at the FAU Soccer Stadium. This match marks the start of C-USA conference play for the Monarchs, while the Owls won their opening C-USA match against South Carolina by a score of 2-1 in overtime. 

The Monarchs enter the contest after a 1-1 draw against Campbell on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at the ODU Soccer Complex. The Tuesday night match went into two overtime periods after a Campbell goal in the 74th minute.

Offensively, the Monarchs have six student-athletes that have scored at least once in their last five contests at home. Freshman Brandon Perdue and Junior Max Wilschrey lead the Monarchs in scoring with three goals on the season, respectively. 

FAU OWLS
FAU’s three losses come from North Carolina State (3-1-0), College of Charleston (2-2), and NJIT (5-0-1). Sophomore Carlos Sanchis leads the Owls with three goals and four shots on goal. Goalkeeper Daniel Ragoo has 15 saves in the net for the Owls.

All-Time vs. FAU
Old Dominion holds a 4-0-0 advantage in the all- time series over the Owls. The last two meetings ended in double-overtime with the advantage going to the Monarchs.

Up Next
Following the match against FAU, the Monarchs return home on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 7:00 p.m. for a non-conference match against in-state rival VCU.
