Linebackers Preview
A year after having a pair of seniors combine to start 26 games at linebacker, ODU will head into 2017 with zero combined starts. However, the group is talented and competition for playing time will be at an all-time high.
Marvin Branch is the only linebacker on the team with playing experience on defense. In 23 games, Branch has 44 career tackles. He had a solid spring and has a hold on one starting position.
The other starting position or two, depending on the
defense, will be from a group consisting of redshirt
freshmen Lawrence Garner, Tyler Darr, Zach Lackman, Brent Priester. , Anthony Resek, Demetrius Stitmon or Jordan Young. Young and Stitmon have the inside edge heading into camp, but competition is wide open.
Sophomore Terez Dickerson saw his first action last season, playing in five games on special teams, registering three tackles.
Head Coach Bobby Wilder prefers to redshirt freshmen, but if any true freshmen could play, it could be either Estefano Feliciano or Keisean Wilson.
