NEW YORK -- Old Dominion sophomore forward Alexa Ostoich has been named the Big East Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.

Ostoich, who entered the season with just one career goal, notched a weekend total of six points with two goals and two assists.

In the season opener against No. 7 Penn State, Ostoich tallied a goal in the 23rd minute in a 3-2 loss to the Nittany Lions.

The Malvern, Pennsylvania, native then followed that performance with a one-goal, two-assist effort in the 4-2 victory over No. 21 American. Ostoich assisted on both of Erin Huffman's first-half goals, before adding a goal of her own in the 46th minute.

Overall, Ostoich's six points are tied for the highest total in the Big East through the opening weekend of play.

Ostoich and the Monarchs return to action on Wednesday, as ODU travels to No. 19 James Madison for its first road game of the season at 6 p.m.
