NORFOLK, Va. - Max Wilschrey scored the game-winning goal in the 68th minute to put Old Dominion University men's soccer on top 2-1 on the way to a 3-1 victory Saturday night in exhibition action at the ODU Soccer Complex.
With the score tied at one, a ball got kicked back to Wilschrey at the top of the box and he blasted a shot to the right of the keeper for a 2-1 Monarch lead.
In the 82nd minute, Zach LoBasso took a feed from Amir Najib to make the score 3-1.
George Mason took a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute on a goal from Hening Dirks. Mason took the 1-0 lead into halftime.
In the 52nd minute, the Monarchs tied the contest on a goal from Ryan mcLaughlin.
ODU opens the 2017 regular season on Friday, Aug. 25 at home against Appalachian State at 7 p.m.
