NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University Football practice for the fifth time in fall camp and the first time in full pads on Friday morning.
The full-padded practice was conducted in a steady rain for the final hour of practice, as the squad had another chance to focus on ball security.
In red zone team drills, Lawrence Garner came away with an interception in the end zone to stop a drive. Later in practice Blake LaRussa connected with Jonathan Duhart down the right sideline for a gain of 40 yards.
The Monarchs open the season at Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 2 against Albany at 6 p.m.
