IRVING, Texas -- Old Dominion junior midfielder Niko Klosterhalfen has been named to the Preseason All-Conference USA team, the league office announced on Friday.
Klosterhalfen, a native of Germany, was a Third Team All-C-USA selection last season as a sophomore and was also named the 2015 C-USA Freshman of the Year. A starter since his arrival on campus in 2015, Klosterhalfen has scored four goals in each of his first two seasons with the Monarchs.
As a team, Old Dominion was selected to finish seventh in the Preseason Poll.

Head coach Alan Dawson, in his 21st season at the helm, and the Monarchs officially open the season on Friday, Aug. 25, against Appalachian State at the ODU Soccer Stadium. The team is coming off of a 6-9-2 season in 2016 that ended in the semifinals of the C-USA Tournament. This season, Old Dominion is set to host the C-USA Tournament.
