NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's soccer team turned in an impressive academic year, as its 3.54 team GPA for the spring semester ranked first of the 18 teams at ODU, while also ranking first at the school for its 2016-17 combined team GPA of 3.535.
22 ODU women's soccer student-athletes were named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll (cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better), 17 were named to the Dean's List in the fall (GPA of 3.4 or better), six compiled a perfect 4.0 GPA for the spring semester and five garnered C-USA Commissioner Academic Medals (cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better).
"I could not be prouder of our team and the commitment and dedication they give towards their studies,” said ODU women's soccer head coach Angie Hind. “Balancing the commitment they have for soccer with the drive to excel in the classroom, I believe speaks volumes for the type of student-athletes we have."
Fall 2016 Team GPA: 3.53
Student-Athletes with a 4.0: 2
Student-Athletes with a 3.4 or higher (Dean's List): 17
Student-Athletes with a 3.0 or higher: 22
Spring 2017 Team GPA: 3.54
Student-Athletes with a 4.0: 6
Student-Athletes with a 3.4 or higher (Dean's List): 14
Student-Athletes with a 3.0 or higher: 21
