NORFOLK, Va. --
For the first time in four weeks, No. 25 Old Dominion is set to play midweek baseball. The Monarchs travel to Richmond for a matchup against the Spiders at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, before returning to The Bud to host VCU on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Tuesday's game at Richmond will be streamed on the A-10 Network, while Wednesday's home game against VCU will be streamed on beIN Sports. Live gameday audio featuring commentary from Ted Alexander will also be provided for the game at Richmond.

Old Dominion (32-14), ranked 25th in the latest D1Baseball Top 25, is coming off of a series win at UAB last weekend. The top-25 ranking marks the first time since 2007 that the Monarchs have been ranked.

ODU is hitting .292 and averaging 7.2 runs per game. Over the last 10 games, the Monarchs own a team average of .338, as four players are hitting .400 or better during that span. Jared Young leads the club with a .379 average and seven home runs, while Zach Rutherford is hitting .348 with a team-high 47 RBIs. Freshmen Kyle Battle and Vinnie Pasquantino are also hitting .340 or better with 30+ RBIs each.

Richmond (14-30) enters Tuesday on an eight-game losing streak and have lost 10 of its last 11 games. Overall, the Spiders are hitting .277 as a team and are led by Vinny Capra, who has a team-leading .366 average, and Daniel Brumbaugh, who is hitting .345 and has driven in a team-high 31 runs.

On the mound, Richmond has a club ERA of 5.78. Closer Jonathan De Marte owns a team-low 2.22 ERA to go along with three saves. The Monarchs lead the all-time series against Richmond, 65-60.

VCU (29-18) currently sits in second place in the Atlantic 10 standings with a 16-5 record in conference play. The Monarchs and Rams met earlier this season, with ODU pulling out a 5-4 extra-inning victory in Richmond. The Rams have a team average of .287 at the plate.

Paul Witt leads the club with a .363 average, while Darian Carpenter has a team-leading 11 home runs and 37 RBIs. VCU has a team ERA of 3.69 and closer Sam Donko, who was named to the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Midseason Watch List, has 12 saves and 2.20 ERA. The Monarchs handed Donko one of his three losses on the season, after scoring two runs off the closer in the extra-inning win. With that victory earlier this season, ODU leads the all-time series, 89-60.

Overall, the Monarchs are 6-3 in midweek games this season and 5-3 against in-state opponents.
