JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Four Lady Monarch lacrosse players earned ASUN all-conference awards as announced by the conference office Wednesday evening at the 2017 Awards Banquet.

Connor Carson earned a place on the ASUN All-1st-team, while Mary Katherine Maloney was named to the ASUN All-Freshman team and Cydney Tutchton and Kerri Caruso both made the ASUN All-Academic team.

Carson was named to the first-team all ASUN at the banquet Wednesday night. The award is her third-consecutive 1st-team All-ASUN nod following a 41 goal, seven assist, 48 point, record-breaking season. Carson took over first in career draw controls in the ODU Record book and continues to grow her numbers. She also sits in the top-10 in career points, goals and caused turnovers.

Maloney leads all freshmen on the team in ground balls (30), draw controls (14) and caused turnovers (14). She is the only freshman to have played in all 17 games to date, starting nine, as a defensive midfielder for the Lady Monarchs.

Tutchton and Caruso were both named to the 2017 ASUN All-Academic team. Tutchton led the team with a 4.0 GPA studying biology. She has played in 15 games, starting 12, and is third on the team in goals (22). Tutchton has assisted on seven goals for a total of 29 points. She has tallied 22 ground balls, 27 draw controls and has forced 10 turnovers.

Caruso earned a spot on the ASUN All-Academic team with a 3.62 GPA studying mechanical engineering at ODU. She has been a leader on defense for the Lady Monarchs starting all 17 games. She is second on the team in ground balls with 26 and caused turnovers with 27.

The Lady Monarchs face the 4th seeded Mercer on Thursday, May 4, in Jacksonville, Fla. Game time is set for 1 p.m. at D.B. Milne Field on the campus of Jacksonville University. Fans can watch the game on ESPN3 and live stats will be available as well.
