CHARLESTON, S.C. - Old Dominion University Sailing sits in 11th place after the first day Laser Performance Team Race National Championship in Charleston, South Carolina.

The Monarchs finished with a 6-6 record on the day. There are 18 races remaining in the first round with the top eight teams advancing to the second round.

The team consisted of Jack Elkin, James Jacob and Jeremy Herrin, while the crew were Gabe Smith, Elle Wells, Stephen Guglielmo and Carter Little.

ODU started the day with a loss to Eckerd followed by a win over Hobart and William Smith. The Monarchs dropped two-straight but came back with a win over Oregon State. The middle part of the day saw ODU lose four-straight races, but the Monarchs fought back winning the final four races of the day over Tufts, Hawaii, Texas A&M Galveston and Yale.

The first race tomorrow begins at 10 a.m.
