ATHENS, Ga. -- The Old Dominion women's golf team dropped two hard-fought match play battles against top 25 nationally-ranked programs Saturday on day two of the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. ODU will square off against No. 89 Troy in the final match of the tournament Sunday morning.
Competing in the round robin style Black Bracket, the Monarchs fell against No. 11 South Carolina, 4-1, Saturday morning before they were outlasted by No. 22 Purdue, 3-2, Saturday afternoon.
Charlotte De Corte was the lone Monarch to pick up a win in Saturday morning's match against South Carolina, while Katerina Vlasinova pulled out a win against the Boilermakers in the second match of the day.
ODU will battle No. 89 Troy in the final match play competition of the tournament tomorrow at 9:20 a.m.
