ITHACA, N.Y. - Old Dominion University Sailing finished in eighth place at the America Trophy MAISA Conference Championship over the weekend. By finishing in the top-nine, ODU qualified for the national championship at the end of May in Charleston, South Carolina.
The Division A team of Jeremy Herrin, Carter Little, James Jacob and Stephen Guglielmo finished in 10th place. The group completed a pair of top-five finishes.
The Division B squad of Jack Elkin and Gabe Smith took sixth place, placing inside the top-five eight times, and winning the third race of the weekend.
Gabe Smith and Carter Little were named to the All-MAISA team at crew, while head coach Mitch Brindley was named MAISA Coach of the Year.
