IRVING, Texas -- Following a complete-game shutout against Charlotte on Saturday, Adam Bainbridge has been named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Bainbridge scattered four hits and one walk over his nine scoreless frames and struck out a career-high seven in the 2-0 victory over Charlotte. The complete game performance was Bainbridge's second of his career, while the shutout was the first by a Monarch pitcher since Ryan Yarbrough against William & Mary in 2013.
With the win, the Pennsylvania native improved to 6-1 on the year with a 1.31 ERA and a 0.85 WHIP. In three C-USA starts, Bainbridge is 3-0 with a 1.07 ERA. The senior lefty has now gone at least eight innings in three consecutive starts and has not allowed more than two earned runs in all seven starts this season.

Bainbridge and the Monarchs begin a five-game road trip tomorrow with a matchup against No. 25 Virginia at 5 p.m. at Davenport Field.
