NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women’s soccer team wrapped up the spring season with a 2-0 victory over Virginia Wesleyan over the weekend at the ODU Soccer Complex. The Lady Monarchs ended the spring with a 2-0-3 record.
After a scoreless first half, the scoring opened up in the 53rd minute by a long ball sent in from Jackie Stroud to Alex Davidson who finished on a half-volley. Five minutes later in the 58th minute, Iris Achterhof received a pass and took space down the flank to cross a ball on the deck to Deirdre Bradley, who one-timed a strike to the back post.
The defense held strong to keep their third clean sheet of the spring season. Both Krista Moisio and Erin Davidson shared time during the game, each coming up with a save apiece.
The ODU women’s soccer program would like to thank the Chesapeake Soccer Club for their help as ball girls at the game.
