Spring football is over but ODUSports.com will continue to provide coverage on ODU Football with videos, photo galleries and articles on your Monarchs. Today we have a Q&A on redshirt freshman wide receiver, Noah Ellison.
Q: What made you choose ODU?
A: I knew that there was a leader here in Zach Pascal. It was a good opportunity to come here.
Q: What is your major?
A: Business Management.
Q: When did you start playing football?
A: I started playing football in seventh grade.
Q: What got you into football?
A: Actually, in middle school I played basketball. I decided to make the switch to football because I knew it was easier to get to college that way. I was better at football than basketball too.
Q: Talk about your redshirt year and what you’ve learned since joining the team.
A: I think I have grown as a player physically and mentally. I have gained a lot of weight, almost 15 pounds since I have been here. Mentally, I have learned to keep my composure under pressure. I have learned to wait my turn. If you do what you are supposed to do you are going to earn a spot.
Q: You mentioned Zach Pascal, what did you learn watching him in practice and games?
A: He was a hard worker. He watches film. He is a dog on the field. He is a prime example of who you want to be if you play wide receiver.
Q: Favorite athlete and why?
A: My favorite athlete is Allen Iverson. I feel he started his own trend. He made it cool to be who he was and I just feel like I want to standout and be my own person.
Q: Favorite food?
A: Lasagna.
Q: Favorite Movie?
A: The Iron Giant.
Q: If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
A: Either invisibility or flight.
Q: Talk about the week in the Bahamas, what that experience was like for you.
A: It was a great experience. I didn’t play since I was a redshirt but was still able to travel and be a part of the team. I got to do a little community service while I was down there. It was good to see a whole new world, I had never left the country before that trip.
Q: Something people don’t know about you?
A: The reason I play football is because of my mom.
