NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University Football practiced for the 12th time this spring Wednesday morning at the L.R. Hll Sports Complex practice fields.
With three practices left, today's workout last approximately an hour and 20 minutes and was in shorts, shoulder pads and helmets.

ODU will travel to Miami for its 10th game of the season on Saturday, Nov. 11.
About the Panthers
Butch Davis will be in his first season as head coach of the FIU Panthers in 2017. Davis has previously been the head coach of UNC from 2007-2010. David Coached the Cleveland Browns for four seasons before UNC. Davis was a defensive coordinator and defensive line coach for the Cowboys and won two Super Bowls in 1992-1993.
The Panthers went 4-8 last season, collecting wins against FAU, UTEP, Charlotte and Marshall.
FIU returns a solid group of offensive performers, led by quarterback Alex McGough. McGough completed 167-of-286 for 1,891 yards and 13 touchdowns. Running back Alex Gardner carried the ball 181 times for 930 yards and six touchdowns last season.
Thomas Owens and Stanley Thomas combined for 82 receptions for 1,137 yards and eight touchdowns.
On defense, FIU returns two top tacklers. Treyvon Williams led the team with 109 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and three sacks. Anthony Wint recorded 108 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks.

ODU leads 2-1
The Monarchs defeated FIU last season 42-28 behind Ray Lawry’s performance of 194 yards on the ground and three touchdowns. In 2015, the Panthers defeated ODU 42-12. In their first meeting, ODU won 38-35 on a last second field goal by Satchel Ziffer.
