IRVING, Texas -- Old Dominion women's golfer Sana Tufail was named to the 2017 InTouch Credit Union C-USA Women's Golf All-Academic Team, as was announced by the conference office Thursday.

A sophomore from Abu Dhabi, UAE, Tufail is one of just seven women's golfers in Conference USA to earn the distinction this season. This is the first All-Academic Team nod of her young career.

Tufail has represented ODU at every tournament this season, compiling a season stroke average of 74.8. She captured first place out of 87 golfers at the UNF Collegiate last month, firing a three-under 217 and helping the Monarchs claim third place as a team. She also placed 25th at the UCF Challenge and won match play bouts against opponents from No. 28 San Diego State, No. 39 UNLV and No. 89 Troy over the last two weeks.

Off the course, Tufail has excelled in the classroom, maintaining a 3.90 GPA in speech pathology and audiology. In 2016, she received C-USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll distinction and was awarded the C-USA Academic Medal.
