NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women’s tennis team (10-8) will close out the regular season at home for Senior Day against JMU (15-6) on Sunday, April 16 at 12:00 p.m. at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center. The Lady Tennis Monarchs will honor their three seniors before the match: Borislava Botusharova, Marijana Novakovic and Ingrid Vojcinakova. Fans are asked to be in their seats by 11:40 a.m. for the senior ceremony.
No. 87 nationally ranked Borislava Botusharova is 10-3 this spring playing at the No. 1 and 2 singles spot for the Lady Monarchs. In doubles, Botusharova is 11-5 on the season. She has also been named to the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
Marijana Novakovic has a winning record in singles, as well as doubles, as she boasts a 4-2 mark in singles and 11-7 record in doubles. Novakovic has spent the majority of the doubles matches partnered with fellow senior Botusharova, who together have compiled a 10-5 record. She has been tabbed to the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll for maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.
Ingrid Vojcinakova is 10-4 in singles so far this season for the Lady Tennis Monarchs. Vojcinakova has played at every singles spot for Old Dominion. Ingrid was named to the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll and earned a C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal for her work in the classroom.
Meet JMU
The Dukes are 15-6 on the season. JMU had its five-match winning streak snapped against Charleston in their last match. The Dukes will take on Elon on Saturday before the match against ODU to close out the regular season for both teams.
