ELMHURST, Ill. -- Old Dominion wrestling signee Michael McGee (Bolingbrook, Ill./Plainfield East) is set to compete in the 20th Annual Dream Team Classic Saturday evening at Elmhurst College outside Chicago.
Sponsored by Wrestling USA Magazine and presented by IKWF/IL-USAW, the event will take place on Saturday night starting at 8 p.m. ET, featuring some of the nation's best seniors across the United States against Illinois' top seniors. A live webcast will be provided by Trackwrestling.
McGee, who projects at 125 for the Monarchs next season, captured his second Illinois state crown in February, capping off a decorated high school career that included three trips to the state finals and a record of 116-5 in his final three seasons. He currently holds a national ranking of No. 4 by InterMat at 120 lbs.
His opponent for Saturday night's Dream Team Classic will be Esco Walker from Hopewell, North Carolina. Walker is a three-time North Carolina state placewinner, NHSCA Junior National Champion, NHSCA Senior National fifth-place finisher and FloNationals placer.
