FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- David Langley and Antonio Cruz-Conde finished in a tie for seventh place as the Old Dominion men's golf team recorded a fourth-place finish at the inaugural Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate Tuesday at the Fort Lauderdale Country Club.
As a team, ODU finished in fourth place, shooting 31-over par and placing behind only team champion Richmond, Seton Hall and Florida Gulf Coast. The Monarchs placed ahead of 10 other participating teams.
Individually, veterans Langley and Cruz-Conde led the Monarchs with seventh-place finishes, as the pair finished the tournament four-over par. Sophomore Calvin Greschner placed 19th, shooting 10-over par, while Michael Bakker placed 31st after shooting 13-over par.
Cruz-Conde finished the two-day event with the best par three scoring average (2.83) of all 84 golfers in the field. Greschner recorded 36 pars, the third-most of anyone in the tournament.
On a quick turnaround, the Monarchs are back in action this Friday through Sunday at the Pinehurst Challenge in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
