BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Jennie Simms repeated as a Conference USA All-Tournament Team selection, the league office announced on Saturday. The senior guard averaged 31.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in two games for Old Dominion.
Simms, the 2016-17 C-USA Player of the Year, posted 29 points, eight rebounds and three assists in the Lady Monarchs' 80-70 first round victory over UTEP. The Accokeek, Maryland, native then followed that performance with 33 points, eight rebounds and six assists in the 80-74 quarterfinal loss to No. 3 seed Southern Miss.
The 31.0 points per game average led all players who played in at least two games in the tournament. In addition, Simms was also the only selection from a non-finalist team on the all-tournament squad.
WKU won the championship, defeating Southern Miss, 67-56, on Saturday evening at Legacy Arena.
