The Student-Athlete Academic Services of Old Dominion University held its first ever LinkedIn/Branding workshop on Wednesday, February 22. This event was held in the Batten Arts & Letters building. The student-athlete development team was privileged to have Rob "YB" Youngblood come and lead two sessions that targeted junior student-athletes. Rob Youngblood is the Chief Connecting Officer for YBConnects, LLC.  The attendees had a very unique experience with this workshop. They had the opportunity to take professional head shots for their profile pictures. Students were required to dress in professional attire to participate in the photo sessions. After students completed their head shots, they were given instructions to set up LinkedIn profiles, personalize them, and began searching for people in careers they desired to be in before the speaker presented. Youngblood led two sessions that provided hands on building of each of their profiles. He provided ways for the students to enhance their profiles while displaying their experience and uniqueness as student-athletes. The key components of education, experience, skills, recommendations, and alumni relations were explained during the two sessions totaling over 80 students.  Quotes from participants: "I thought that it was instrumental in my professional start-up. YB was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, which made it more enjoyable."Chad Hess, Men’s Golf "I like the step by step process he explained to set up an account.
